Industry experts conversed about the ongoing issue of how to cultivate enough food to meet upcoming demands while getting the food where it needs to be. Kottmeyer said to examine the problem like a pipeline.
“You’ve got this pipe and it’s allowing a certain amount of water to get through,” says Rich Kottmeyer, senior executive and global agriculture and food production leader of Accenture. “We can improve the pipe, we can improve the velocity of the water through the pipe by optimization–or you can fix the leaks in the pipe.”
