India To Export Food Regardless Of Poor Rains

World’s second-largest producer of rice and wheat to continue to export food regardless of drought.


India is expected to maintain exports of wheat and rice regardless of concerns over drought due to ample stocks of food from last year’s harvest.

Food Minister K.V. Thomas stated: “We are working on a mechanism to have a stable export-import policy on select farm commodities such as rice, wheat and sugar.”
