Warehouse: We provide public, contract and bulk warehousing service across 49 million cubic feet of climate-controlled, food-grade, Safe Quality Food (SQF)-certified warehouse space on the Ports of New York/New Jersey and Philadelphia, and access to multiple port-centric locations across the U.S. We offer controlled temperature zones ranging from 40°F to 65°F, as well as ambient space. Our facility layout, as well as our indoor rail siding support many of our value-added services, including storage, handling, co-packing, labeling and multi-vendor consolidation, so that we’re ready to provide you with unique services to help you optimize supply chain efficiencies. Our SQF certification by the American Sanitation Institute (ASI) provides assurance that your products will be handled according to the highest industry standards.Transportation: We provide fast, reliable and cost-effective nationwide temperature-controlled truckload (TL) and less than truckload (LTL) transportation services through our in-house transportation and brokerage arms Safeway Logistics and Safeway Logistics Solutions. Safeway provides final mile delivery services regionally, with 200+ drivers, and nationally, through our pool distribution network, which is one of the largest nationwide with capabilities to deliver anywhere in the U.S. Pier/Intermodal: We operate one of the largest and most established drayage fleets in the region with a safety record to match - but this isn't the only reason our pier/intermodal services are unmatched by others in the industry. Our unique on-port location, fleet size and sophisticated container management system enables us to have real time visibility and rapid deployment and recovery of containers, helping avoid untimely delays and supply chain cost overruns.Customs: We are proud to be designated and certified by U.S. Customs & Border Protection as the longest-running comprehensive Customs Exam Station (CES) in New Jersey. We are also proud to offer CES services in Philadelphia. Our strategic and convenient on-port locations, 14.5-acre exam and post-exam container service yard in New Jersey, and 5.75-acres exam and post-exam container service yard in Philadelphia, and more than 20 years of CES experience, makes the transfer, processing and release of cargo smooth and efficient.
Sustainability is an important aspect of business at East Coast Warehouse and the company continues to focus on ways to reduce its environmental footprint. Its comprehensive sustainability program includes the operation of a newly expanded solar powered warehouse that includes 4,950 high-efficiency solar modules and top of the line inverters at its company headquarters, which are expected to have a first-year targeted output of 2,009,247 kWH of clean, renewable energy. In addition to solar panels, the company has implemented a comprehensive recycling program, advanced motion sensing technology to help further decrease energy usage, and is working towards a paperless environment through radio frequency (RF) and electronic data interchange (EDI) technologies.
