Peterbilt Updates Denton Plant

Denton, TX: Truck manufacturer Peterbilt has just invested nearly $3 million dollars in building modifications and equipment installations for its Denton facility.

A large portion of the money went into the creation of an “industry-leading” cafeteria area for their workers. The new layout includes 5 individual serving lines, as well as a separate beverage counter that provides efficient flow of customers through the food service area. The addition of state of the art equipment has assisted their food service provider in expanding their menu selections to include a Self-Serve Salad Bar, Deli Counter, Grill to Order, Plate Lunch Special and a Heart Healthy selection. The cafeteria’s capacity was increased by 50. In addition, the restrooms, company store, vending areas and uniform rooms were all updated as part of the project. As part of the upgrade, an energy management control system was installed to help conserve energy consumption in both air conditioning and lighting systems.

Peterbilt has also updated its training area by creating a state of the art training center. The facility contains three new training labs, a fully-equipped amphitheatre and the latest technologies in order to ensure that its employees are among the most skilled and knowledgeable in the industry.

“This highlights what makes our employees the best and most committed in the industry,” says Melissa Epping, Senior Communications Manager for Peterbilt.
