Pittsburgh: CombineNet, the leading provider of advanced sourcing and optimization technologies, announced today that PepsiCo has signed a three-year license agreement to use CombineNet's Truckload Manager to strategically source the company's North American truckload transportation network.
PepsiCo's North American truckload network includes all inbound and outbound truckload shipments for Quaker Tropicana Gatorade, Frito-Lay North America and Pepsi Cola North America, consisting of 8,000 lanes of traffic and a multi-million dollar spend. Delivered via CombineNet's Advanced Sourcing Application Platform (ASAP), Truckload Manager is an advanced sourcing tool that will provide PepsiCo with the flexibility and analysis capabilities they need to optimize their transportation network, obtain the required service and increase supply chain efficiency.
PepsiCo previously optimized their transportation network by using CombineNet's advanced sourcing technologies for their North American truckload transportation network in 2005. With the growth of their businesses and the need to obtain optimal service while increasing the efficiency of their truckload transportation network, PepsiCo has again turned to CombineNet's advanced sourcing technologies.
"CombineNet's advanced sourcing technologies provide the flexibility and advanced analysis capabilities we need to source our North American truckload network," says Barry Mulkay, director of procurement and carrier operations for PepsiCo. "Based on our previous success with CombineNet technology, PepsiCo is pleased to be able to deploy CombineNet Truckload Manager for the next three years."
CombineNet's ASAP facilitates an innovative approach to strategic sourcing called Expressive Commerce; combining the interaction and expressiveness of traditional face-to-face negotiations with the speed and scale of internet technologies. Using this robust, optimization-enabled sourcing solution will provide PepsiCo with the ability to collect and analyze expressive carrier proposals alongside business goals and operational constraints to identify the optimal transportation sourcing solution in seconds.
"We are enthused to once again be a part of PepsiCo's strategic plan for strategic sourcing and are confident we will exceed their expectations for service, efficiency, speed and cost savings," says Tony Bonidy, president and CEO of CombineNet.
