Pinconning, MI: route distribution solutions provider Magline Inc., celebrated its 60th anniversary with the grand opening of its Discovery Center. The center simulates real-work conditions of Magline customers and provides an environment to jointly develop solutions to their delivery challenges.
“While it doesn’t replace the numerous hours we spend in the field working with customers, it does provide us a local place to work in partnership with our customers to create and test future material handling products, services and systems,” says Magline president Mike Kirby.
The center includes two main elements: a simulation area and an educational component. In the simulation area, visitors have the opportunity to work through issues in a mock convenience store, warehouse and delivery vehicle with a lift gate and ramp. There are also areas that replicate challenging deliveries on stairs, rough terrain and inclines.
The educational area provides a close-up look at Magliner products, a brain-storming area and traditional training center. There is also an historical wall of photographs that depict Magline’s 60 years of material handling innovation.
“It’s important we focus on our customers and their challenges. Our Discovery Center gives us a unique place to create the products and services that improve delivery productivity and safety,” says Kirby.
