Scottsdale, AZ: JDA Software Group Inc. has announced the general release of its JDA Fleet Management solution, powered by Manugistics. The transportation and logistics management software application is designed to provide integrated enterprise transportation planning, robust asset management, route optimization and master delivery schedule creation.

The newly enhanced version of JDA’s Fleet Management solution embeds ESRI’s ArcGIS Network Analyst, a powerful geographic information system (GIS) and analysis toolset that enables users to build more efficient and environmentally-friendly distribution networks. It also provides seamless integration with Tele Atlas Multinet and DynaMap digital map and logistics data.

JDA Fleet Management uses a constraint-based optimization approach to create detailed work plans to manage fleets based on shipment requirements. Its goal is to lower freight costs and maximize asset utilization, while maintaining delivery schedules and high levels of customer service. The addition of ESRI’s ArcGIS Network Analyst provides accurate distance calculation and travel path analysis to create optimized routes across the entire distribution network. It also enables users to dynamically model travel path conditions, taking into account such real-world constraints as turn restrictions, speed limits, height restrictions and traffic conditions at different times of day.
