IFDA Foodservice Distribution Conference Sees 20 Percent Attendance Increase

Louisville, KY: More than 1,200 industry leaders attended the second annual Foodservice Distribution Conference & Expo, held October 7-9 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville. During the three-day conference, attendees participated in educational sessions, an operations and IT focused exposition, facility tours and several networking events. Overall attendance at this year’s event increased by nearly 20 percent.

“This conference provides the best opportunity in this industry for distributors of all sizes to come together and hear best practices on how other distributors are improving efficiencies,” says Steve Potter, senior vice president of industry relations at the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA), the trade group coordinating the event. “The focus at this conference is to move this industry forward and to improve efficiencies through best practices. Companies that attend get a chance to hear from their peers about ways to improve vital areas of their business, from operations and transportation to human resources and information technology. The dialogue also extends into improving the overall supply chain,” noted Mr. Potter.

In total, 178 distributor companies participated in the event, including member companies of IFDA, as well as companies affiliated with UniPro Foodservice, Inc., Progressive Group Alliance, American Wholesale Marketers Association, F.A.B., Inc., Golbon Foods Company, Bellissimo Foods, Federated Foodservice and Independent Marketing Alliance.
