McLean, VA: Final development of more than 40 educational sessions is underway for the 2008 Foodservice Distribution Conference & Expo, taking place October 12-14 in Pittsburgh. According to IFDA, the conference, themed “Bridges to Success,” will address key issues surrounding efficiency, technology and collaboration in foodservice distribution.

Tracks for education sessions include distribution center operations, transportation, human resources, information technology and supply chain. In addition, a special set of sessions will focus on issues in the growing convenience store distribution sector.

“In today’s environment, finding efficiencies and applying best practices is critical to the bottom line and to serving customers effectively,” says Jeff Braverman, president of Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution Inc. and overall chairman of the conference. “This conference is an excellent place for distribution professionals to hear about new technologies, improved practices, and the latest developments that can be applied to our businesses.”
