Carrier Introduces PrimeLINE Container Refrigeration Unit

Amsterdam, Netherlands: Carrier Transicold’s Container Products Group is proud to introduce the PrimeLINE container refrigeration unit — designed specifically to reduce environmental impact and lifecycle cost through exceptional efficiency. The PrimeLINE unit is distinguished by its unique features, including design enhancements that simultaneously boost cooling capacity and energy efficiency.

“Energy is the single largest component of lifecycle cost,” says Jim Taeckens, senior product manager for Carrier’s Container Products Group. “The PrimeLINE unit’s exceptional efficiency results in a lifecycle cost that is up to 30 percent lower than all competitive units. It has the best coefficient of performance – the calculation of efficiency – of any container refrigeration unit, and will be particularly valued by those shipping lines that are systematically measuring their energy costs.”

When compared to competitive models, that level of efficiency can translate into savings of $1 million over the life of the units for a typical scenario of 1,000 units operating at various capacities on a 21-day voyage made five times a year, notes Taeckens. “That’s using today’s fuel prices. The contrast will grow if fuel prices increase.”

The PrimeLINE unit’s reduced power requirements also help conserve precious fossil fuel. In addition, the PrimeLINE unit can reduce emissions, and it uses an environmentally sound refrigerant.
