Campbell Soup To Sell Condiment Business
New York: Campbell Soup Co. has just announced that it has agreed to sell its condiments business, Generale Condimentaire in France to Lesieur, a company indirectly held by Sofiproteol, the financial arm of the French oilseed producer.
Generale Condimentaire, makes sauce and mayonnaise under the "Lesieur" brand. Campbell licenses the "Lesieur" name from. The Generale Condimentaire condiments business had sales of about $70 million last year, according to Campbell’s.
The company says its new strategy is to focus on its simple meals category in France.
