All Truck Transportation Deploys PeopleNet

Minneapolis: Chicago-based All Truck Transportation has selected PeopleNet for its varied fleet operations. The All Truck fleet fields more than 250 power units.

Lou Gartner, vice president, sales and operations, says that All Truck operates a centrally-dispatched fleet in regional commercial service, as well as dedicated fleets for individual clients. The dedicated fleets, including two based in nearby Indiana, are primarily local operations.

The company began installing PeopleNet in May of 2007. It uses PeopleNet applications including PACOS geofencing for automated pickup and delivery notification and PerformX to monitor truck and driver performance. All Truck has also deployed PeopleNet’s eDriver Logs, the industry’s leading automated driver log system.

Before deploying PeopleNet, All Truck had been using an obsolete tracking system and wanted the benefit of more functional technology. When it came to selecting a GPS tracking, mobile communications and onboard computing provider, “we did our due diligence,” Gartner notes.

The decision to go with PeopleNet was based on a number of factors, Gartner adds, including its web-based interface, ease of use and PeopleNet’s over-the-air programming capability that enables wireless software updates for onboard systems while they’re on the road.

“We’re very pleased to have All Trucks as a PeopleNet customer,” notes Brian McLaughlin, executive vice president, marketing, product and sales. “They are a dynamic, forward-looking company with the ability to understand and meet the needs of their transportation market. We look forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship.”
