Canada Recalls Sesame Paste Over Undeclared Peanut

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Dingshing Trading Ltd. are recalling Sesame paste made in China for undeclared peanut, one of the major food allergens, according to Food Safety Bulletin. People with an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product has Chinese characters only. It is Sesame paste product sold in 400 gram containers. All codes where peanut is not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number is 6 922483 900025. It was sold in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba at the retail level.
