OSHA's New SDS Requirements Are Coming

Employee training on new SDS labels is December 1st

Back in 2012 OSHA revised its Hazard Communications Standard (HCS) to syncronize it with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The revised HCS requires a new labeling system and a standardized format for Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), formally known as Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).

While the new standard will be slowly phased in by 2016, the first deadline of December 1 requires all employers to train employees on the new label and SDS formats. To read more, click HERE.
