TMW Acquires Routing And Scheduling Software Provider Appian

The addition of Appian expands TMW's presence in logistics planning and transportation management for 3PLs, dedicated logistics operators, courier services and private fleets operating in retail, food and beverage distribution and restaurant supply markets among others. Terms of the transaction were not made public.

With Appian products, TMW adds to its existing offerings for freight network design, lane and bid analysis and load optimization solutions. Current Appian customers gain direct access to integrated enterprise transportation management solutions and a wide range of complementary and best-of-breed applications, from business intelligence to asset maintenance, under TMW Systems.

Appian and TMW Systems were both recognized recently by Inbound Logistics Magazine as part of their 2011 Top 100 Logistics IT Providers list. Founded in 1987, Appian Logistics Software optimizes short term routes, territories and schedules for 3PLs, courier services and a wide variety of private and dedicated fleets operating in direct store delivery, grocery, beverage, building products, retail and restaurant supply.
