Atlanta-based AmeriCold spent close to $4 million to convert a former Winn-Dixie distribution center in Charlotte, NC, into a 400,000-square-foot cold storage facility to serve clients like Schwan's. The facility has 6.6 million cubic feet of freezer capacity (equating to 20,250 pallet positions) and 4.5 million cubic feet of cooler space (9,500 pallet positions)...Associated Grocers of Maine, Gardiner, ME, just completed a $6 million warehouse expansion that included 41,000 square feet of additional cooler space, new cooler docks and a refrigeration system upgrade…PepsiCo plans to build a $180 million manufacturing and distribution facility in Pryor, OK, for its Gatorade and Propel Fitness Water lines. The 1.5 million-square-foot facility should be operational by September 2007.
