Hanson Logistics, St. Joseph, MI, is constructing a temperature-controlled consolidation center in Chicago. The 14,500,000-cubic-foot facility will be constructed in three phases with a total of 45,000 pallet positions ranging from deep frozen (-20°F) for ice cream to 0°F for frozen and a 32-40°F cooler. The facility, which will be completed this summer, is designed specifically for high-volume throughput, with a flexible racking design and layout enabling Hanson to meet a variety of customer requirements including case-pick consolidation and cross docking of temperature-controlled food products.... Preferred Freezer Services, Newark, NJ, has opened a facility in Westfield, MA. Featuring 7.5 million cubic feet of freezer space, it's the fourth warehouse Preferred Freezer has opened in Massachusetts.

Last month, Diamond was named the winner of the Winter Yearling Class in the Junior Show at the World Dairy Expo.
