Website Relaunched

Logistics View

On the hit cable television series Project Runway, host and supermodel Heidi Klum begins each show with these words: "In fashion, one day you're in and the next day you're out."

The same could be said about websites. Website design and functionality are evolving rapidly, as are user expectations-people are now demanding more from the websites they visit. If they don't find what they're looking for, they don't come back. Companies have to re-evaluate their sites on a continual basis, to make what they're delivering relevant content in a way that's easy to digest.

Today, that content comes in different forms-text, video, webcasts and podcasts-and is available 24/7. If you don't have time to read an article, for example, you can watch a five-minute video presentation on that topic. If you can't "attend" a live webcast, you can view an archived version on the website at your leisure. Or you can download a podcast and listen to it on your way to work in the morning.

We know just how busy our readers are, so we're making it easier for you to stay connected to the food industry, thanks to our redesigned website. The new Foodlogistics.com is easier to navigate and offers more features than our old site. For starters, we now have a Media Center that showcases videos from product and service vendors, as well as archives of webcasts and podcasts. These informative tools will keep you abreast of emerging trends in the industry and help you make better business decisions.

We can also help you make better purchasing decisions. Looking for a new forklift, trailer or warehouse management system? Our Buyer's Guide, featuring more than 50 product and service categories, can point you in the right direction.

Also new to Foodlogistics.com is our panel of columnists. Each month, we will feature viewpoints from three industry experts on a variety of topics. And I will be blogging on a regular basis.

In this fast-moving industry, it's hard to stay on top of the latest news, products and services. But with Foodlogistics.com, our goal is to provide you with all the information you need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week-in whatever format works best for you.

We're very excited about the new look and functionality of Foodlogistics.com and we hope you are too. Please take a look and let us know what you think. We'd appreciate your feedback.
