Del Monte Fresh Produce Co., San Francisco, has just acquired two melon operations in Guatemala. The two acquired operations will provide approximately 5 million boxes of cantaloupes and honeydews for Del Monte during the upcoming offshore melon season, which starts in late November and runs until Mid May. The move ensures enough supply to help Del Monte meet increasing customer needs in North America.

Chiquita Brands International, Inc., Cincinnati, has entered into a joint venture with Haitong Food Group Co., Ltd. for the processing, sale and marketing of value-added fresh produce in China. Chiquita will provide limited capital investment and have majority ownership of the jointventure company. Système U, France, has selected the Aldata G.O.L.D. Vocal PDA. Système U has begun operating Vocal PDA with voice-order picking on 50 PDA units.

Ralcorp Holdings, St. Louis, has just completed its acquisition of the Post cereal business. It purchased the cereal business from Kraft Foods for $2.6 billion. As part of the deal, it has taken over the Post cereal manufacturing plants in Battle Creek, MI; Jonesboro, AR; Modesto, CA; and Niagara Falls, Ont. and retained the employees at these facilities.
DCI Cheese CO., Mayville, WI, a manufacturer and supplier of cheese products, has implemented the RIMS Warehouse Management System from Robocom Systems International in its Green Bay, WI facility. RIMS will manage DCI's finished goods and raw material inventory. The company produces 120 million pounds and 1,500 different SKU's of cheese each year.
