» Crowley Maritime Corp., Syracuse, NY, is converting nearly a quarter of its refrigerated container fleet to energy-efficient Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE units. The 355 40-foot high-cube reefer containers will reduce power consumption, emissions and environmental impact.

» Mechanicsburg, PA-based NAPA Transportation has signed an agreement to roll out XATANET to its entire 220-vehicle for-hire fleet, making it easy for the company to comply with CSA 2010 and associated regulations.

The 450,000-square-foot facility will have the capacity to produce more than 5,000 trailers annually....VersaCold Logistics, Dominguez Hills, CA, opened a distribution center at the Port of Tacoma in Tacoma, WA. The 196,600-square-foot energy efficient refrigerated warehouse serves one of the largest retailers in the area, Grocery Outlet.

Jake’s Finer Foods, a food-line distributor based in Houston, was presented with the Food Logistics’ Golden Pallet Award at the International Foodservice Distributors Association’s recent Annual Distribution Solutions Conference in Tampa. The Golden Pallets recognize food companies that have achieved excellence in warehousing. Jake’s won in the Large DC category.
